It’s been, oooh… days, since we wrote about a geotracking app so it must be about time for us to tell you about another. This time it’s the turn of Everytrail which combines elements of Google’s My Tracks and the third part app, Glympse.

My Tracks records your  trips and lets you upload them to Google maps. Glympse on the other hand provides a live time limited snapshot of your position for others to see on the Glympse web site. Everytrail doesn’t provide the live option but once you’ve stopped recording your trip you can view it on your phone or upload it to the Everytrail web site. Nothing ground breaking there, but the site has an active community, some nice sharing features and a tagging system so you can find others’ trips based on categories and location.

Photos can be added to trips too, although when we tried uploading with a photo embedded we had force close issues. Hopefully it was just a temporary glitch. Other than that, Everytrail is a solid app backed up by a great web site (for the geopositioning enthusiasts). That slider providing instantaneous speed and elevation on your trip is pretty neat too.
